CreateOS Sandbox vs Nebius
Nebius is for ML teams running multi-node training or high-throughput inference on many interconnected NVIDIA GPUs, and CreateOS Sandbox has no GPUs to compete there. CreateOS is for running many short pieces of agent or untrusted code in isolated CPU micro-VMs, billed per second, with egress rules and fork.
Pricing at a Glance
CreateOS rates verified 17 October 2026. Nebius pricing as published on 17 October 2026. Rates billed per GB rather than per GiB, or as bundled sizes, are quoted as published rather than converted.
CreateOS Sandbox
- Compute
- $0.0362 /vCPU-hr
- Memory
- $0.0116 /GiB-hr
Nebius
Nebius lists on-demand HGX H100 at $4.50 per GPU-hour, HGX B200 at $8.50 and CPU-only AMD EPYC Genoa from $0.13/hour, excluding VAT, as of 17 October 2026.
Where CreateOS Sandbox Fits Better
What CreateOS Sandbox brings to this matchup, with a plain note on where Nebius has the edge.
Published per-second billing, where Nebius does not publish its billing granularity.
Memory-state pause and fork for agent sessions; Nebius publishes neither for VMs.
A Free plan with 500 credits and sandboxes up to 1 vCPU / 1 GB, no card required; Nebius publishes no free tier.
Where Nebius is strong
Large 8-GPU VMs and InfiniBand-connected GPU clusters on current NVIDIA platforms across US, EU, UK and Israel regions, with free network egress.
Which to Pick
Pick CreateOS Sandbox if
- You run agent-generated code on CPUs and want each run isolated.
- You want to pause and fork sessions with memory.
- You want deny-by-default outbound once you list allowed hosts.
Pick Nebius if
- You run multi-node training on H100, H200, B200 or B300.
- You need GB200 or GB300 NVL72 systems through sales.
- You want free network egress for large data movement.
Head-to-Head Comparison
Every dimension side by side, checked on 17 October 2026 against each vendor's own docs and pricing pages. "Not published" means we could not find it on the vendor's pages, not that the feature is missing.
| Dimension | CreateOS Sandbox | Nebius |
|---|---|---|
| Built for | Running agent and untrusted code in isolated, disposable Linux sandboxes | Large-scale training and inference on NVIDIA clusters, plus CPU VMs |
| GPU | None; no GPU shapes | Yes: B300, B200, H200, H100, RTX PRO 6000, L40S; GB200/GB300 NVL72 via sales |
| Isolation | Firecracker micro-VM with its own guest kernel | Full VM (hypervisor not published) |
| Billing | Per second while running: $0.03616363/vCPU-hr, $0.01159025/GiB-hr, storage $0.0001584/GB-hr | Hourly per GPU-hour; granularity not published |
| Pause and resume | Yes: disk, memory and CPU state saved; vCPU stops billing, memory and storage still bill | Not published; network block volumes persist independently |
| Outbound network | Open with no rules; deny-by-default once any host, IP, CIDR or wildcard rule exists, enforced on the host outside the VM | Firewall default not published; network egress free |
| Create by API | Yes: REST API, CLI, MCP server and SDKs for TypeScript, Go, Python, Rust, C# and Java (all but TypeScript pre-1.0) | nebius CLI, Go, Python and JavaScript SDKs, Terraform, gRPC and REST |
Common Questions
Does Nebius charge for egress?
No for networking: Nebius says network egress and ingress are free, though Object Storage Standard egress costs $0.0150 per GiB. CreateOS has no egress fees and gives each sandbox a 50 GiB outbound budget by default, after which traffic stops until you recharge.
Which regions do Nebius and CreateOS run in?
Nebius lists public regions in Finland, Madrid, France, Israel, Kansas City, Woodbury in Minnesota and the UK, plus a private region in Iceland. CreateOS runs sandboxes in two managed regions, eu and us, chosen when each sandbox is created.
What is the largest machine on Nebius compared with CreateOS?
Nebius's largest preset is gpu-b300-sxm with 8 GPUs, 192 vCPU and 2768 GiB, and CPU-only cpu-d3 goes to 256 vCPU / 1024 GiB. CreateOS tops out at 8 vCPU / 16 GB on Enterprise, sized for code sandboxes rather than training.
