CreateOS Sandbox vs Notte

Notte fits teams automating logged-in web workflows: credential vaults and personas let an agent sign in to sites, and sessions cost $0.01 per hour. CreateOS Sandbox fits work that goes past the browser, such as running agent-written programs for hours, because each sandbox is a Firecracker micro-VM with no lifetime cap.

Pricing at a Glance

CreateOS rates verified 17 October 2026. Notte pricing as published on 17 October 2026. Rates billed per GB rather than per GiB, or as bundled sizes, are quoted as published rather than converted.

Notte

Browser sessions cost $0.01 per hour, browser functions $0.05 per hour and residential proxies $10/GB, on plans from Free ($10 one-time credits) to Startup at $100/month, as of 17 October 2026.

Where CreateOS Sandbox Fits Better

What CreateOS Sandbox brings to this matchup, with a plain note on where Notte has the edge.

Sandboxes have no lifetime cap, while Notte sessions top out at 24 hours and plan caps run from 15 to 300 minutes.

A published isolation model: each sandbox gets its own guest kernel, root filesystem and network identity.

Pause keeps disk, memory and CPU state, and the paused sandbox can be forked to retry a step several ways.

Egress allowlist by host, IP, CIDR or wildcard, enforced on the host outside the VM.

Where Notte is strong

Credential vaults and personas are built in, so an agent can sign in to websites without the developer building secrets handling, and browser sessions cost only $0.01 per hour.

Which to Pick

Pick CreateOS Sandbox if

  • Agent tasks run past Notte's plan caps of 15 minutes on Free, 120 on Developer or 300 on Startup.
  • You need to run arbitrary code, not only drive a browser.
  • You need to restrict where agent code can connect.

Pick Notte if

  • Your agents log in to many sites and you want stored credentials and identities managed for you.
  • Sessions are short and browser-only, so $0.01/hour session pricing wins.
  • You want deployable browser functions at $0.05/hour.

Common Questions

Does Notte store website logins for my agent?

Yes. Notte offers credential vaults and personas, limited by plan to 5 on Free, 50 on Developer and 200 on Startup. CreateOS Sandbox documents no built-in credential vault, so login handling stays in your own code running inside the sandbox.

Can a Notte session run for a full day?

Only at the top end. Notte's docs allow up to 1,440 minutes, but its pricing page caps sessions at 120 minutes on Developer and 300 on Startup, which suggests a full day needs Enterprise. CreateOS sandboxes have no lifetime cap on any plan.

Is Notte open source?

Its repository is published under SSPL-1.0, and on-premise deployment is offered on Enterprise. CreateOS self-hosting is also Enterprise only, but it is onboarded by the CreateOS team rather than installed from source.
