CreateOS Sandbox vs Morph Cloud

Pick Morph Cloud if you fan out from a prepared VM many times, since branching a live VM with memory into many clones, and branching those again, is its core API. Pick CreateOS Sandbox if you need published egress controls, named regions, compliance reports, or per-vCPU and per-GiB pricing you can compare directly.

Pricing at a Glance

CreateOS rates verified 17 October 2026. Morph Cloud pricing as published on 17 October 2026. Rates billed per GB rather than per GiB, or as bundled sizes, are quoted as published rather than converted.

Morph Cloud

Morph Cloud bills in Morph Compute Units at $0.05 each, where 1 MCU is 1 vCPU-hour plus 4 GB RAM-hours plus 16 GB disk-hours, with Developer at $40 per month (1,000 MCU) and Team at $250 per month (7,500 MCU), as of 17 October 2026.

Where CreateOS Sandbox Fits Better

What CreateOS Sandbox brings to this matchup, with a plain note on where Morph Cloud has the edge.

Documented egress rules: open by default, deny-by-default once you add a host, IP, CIDR or wildcard rule. Morph does not publish egress controls.

Two named regions, eu and us; Morph does not publish regions.

Morph does not publish compliance. CreateOS is SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 certified, with reports available under NDA.

Separate published rates per vCPU-hour, GiB-hour and GB-hour of storage; Morph bundles resources into compute units.

Where Morph Cloud is strong

Morph Cloud treats branching as a first-class API: snapshot a live VM with its memory, launch N clones, and branch those clones again (Infinibranch). That suits RL rollouts, tree search and parallel agent attempts better than rebuilding environments each time.

Which to Pick

Pick CreateOS Sandbox if

  • You must document where sandbox traffic can go.
  • You need to name the region your sandboxes run in.
  • You want to price CPU and memory separately.

Pick Morph Cloud if

  • You run RL or tree-search workloads that branch from one live state many times.
  • You want to branch clones of clones.
  • Your plan needs large limits; Team lists up to 1,024 vCPU.

Common Questions

What is a Morph Compute Unit?

One MCU equals 1 vCPU-hour plus 4 GB of RAM-hours plus 16 GB of disk-hours, or 5 TB of snapshot-hours, at $0.05 standard. Devboxes bill the largest of those three dimensions each hour. CreateOS bills vCPU, memory and storage separately, per second.

Can Morph Cloud branch a running VM?

Yes. Morph snapshots an instance with its memory and launches clones from it, and those clones can be branched again. CreateOS Sandbox forks from a paused sandbox into independent copies, and the source must be paused first.

Does Morph Cloud publish egress controls?

Not in the docs reviewed; egress defaults, regions and the isolation technology were not found. CreateOS Sandbox documents its egress model: open with no rules, then deny-by-default once any host, IP, CIDR or wildcard rule exists, enforced on the host outside the VM.
