CreateOS Sandbox vs Verda
If you need GPUs for training or inference, use Verda: it rents current NVIDIA hardware up to GB300 with EU-only data residency, and CreateOS Sandbox offers no GPUs. If you need CPU sandboxes for agent or untrusted code, created per task and billed per second, CreateOS fits better. Verda's pre-paid 10-minute billing blocks suit long jobs more than short calls.
Pricing at a Glance
CreateOS rates verified 17 October 2026. Verda pricing as published on 17 October 2026. Rates billed per GB rather than per GiB, or as bundled sizes, are quoted as published rather than converted.
CreateOS Sandbox
- Compute
- $0.0362 /vCPU-hr
- Memory
- $0.0116 /GiB-hr
Verda
Verda lists on-demand H100 SXM5 80GB at $4.253 per GPU-hour (spot $2.127) and CPU.4V.16G at $0.048/hour, billed in pre-paid 10-minute increments, as of 17 October 2026.
Where CreateOS Sandbox Fits Better
What CreateOS Sandbox brings to this matchup, with a plain note on where Verda has the edge.
Per-second billing for short agent runs; Verda bills in pre-paid 10-minute increments.
Pause keeps memory and stops vCPU billing, while Verda removed hibernate and a shut-down instance keeps billing.
Egress allowlists per sandbox; Verda does not publish an egress default.
Where Verda is strong
Direct access to current NVIDIA hardware (B200, B300, GB300) at published per-hour prices, spot rates around half of on-demand, and EU-only data residency in renewable-powered Finnish data centers.
Which to Pick
Pick CreateOS Sandbox if
- Your workload is CPU code written or run by an agent, not model training.
- Runs last seconds to minutes, so 10-minute billing blocks would waste money.
- You need fork and memory-state pause for agent sessions.
Pick Verda if
- You train or serve models on H100, B200, B300 or GB300.
- You need EU data residency for GPU work.
- You want Slurm or Kubernetes GPU clusters on demand.
Head-to-Head Comparison
Every dimension side by side, checked on 17 October 2026 against each vendor's own docs and pricing pages. "Not published" means we could not find it on the vendor's pages, not that the feature is missing.
| Dimension | CreateOS Sandbox | Verda |
|---|---|---|
| Built for | Running agent and untrusted code in isolated, disposable Linux sandboxes | GPU training, fine-tuning and inference; CPU instances and serverless containers |
| GPU | None; no GPU shapes | Yes: GB300, B300, B200, H200, H100, A100, RTX PRO 6000, L40S |
| Isolation | Firecracker micro-VM with its own guest kernel | Full VM instances (hypervisor not published); serverless containers (not published) |
| Billing | Per second while running: $0.03616363/vCPU-hr, $0.01159025/GiB-hr, storage $0.0001584/GB-hr | Hourly rates billed in pre-paid 10-minute increments, unused part refunded |
| Pause and resume | Yes: disk, memory and CPU state saved; vCPU stops billing, memory and storage still bill | Hibernate removed; shut-down instances keep billing; no memory snapshot published |
| Outbound network | Open with no rules; deny-by-default once any host, IP, CIDR or wildcard rule exists, enforced on the host outside the VM | Not published |
| Create by API | Yes: REST API, CLI, MCP server and SDKs for TypeScript, Go, Python, Rust, C# and Java (all but TypeScript pre-1.0) | REST API, Python and Go SDKs, CLI, MCP server, Terraform and OpenTofu |
Common Questions
Does CreateOS Sandbox offer GPUs like Verda?
No. CreateOS offers no GPU shapes, and its largest sandbox is 8 vCPU / 16 GB on Enterprise. Verda rents NVIDIA GPUs from L40S to GB300, so model training and inference belong there, while CreateOS handles CPU code execution in isolated micro-VMs.
What happens to a shut-down Verda instance's bill?
It keeps billing. Verda says a shut-down instance keeps its storage and keeps billing, hibernate was removed, and volumes not selected on delete keep billing too. A paused CreateOS sandbox stops vCPU charges while memory and storage continue.
What happens if my Verda account balance reaches zero?
Verda discontinues instances and deletes volumes when the balance reaches zero, and deleted volumes can be restored for up to 96 hours. On CreateOS, a sandbox that uses up its 50 GiB bandwidth budget has outbound traffic dropped until you recharge with account credit.
