CreateOS Sandbox vs OVHcloud

OVHcloud is the low-cost choice for long-lived VMs and GPU instances with heavy outbound traffic, since egress is included outside Asia-Pacific. CreateOS Sandbox is the choice for agent code that runs in short bursts, where hourly billing wastes money and you want pause and fork. Pick by how long each machine lives.

Pricing at a Glance

CreateOS rates verified 17 October 2026. OVHcloud pricing as published on 17 October 2026. Rates billed per GB rather than per GiB, or as bundled sizes, are quoted as published rather than converted.

OVHcloud

US consumption prices run from $0.0129 per hour (d2-2, 1 vCore, 2 GB) through $0.0605 (b3-8) to $3.864 (b3-512, 128 vCores, 512 GB), with an L40S instance at $1.80 per hour, as of 17 October 2026.

Where CreateOS Sandbox Fits Better

What CreateOS Sandbox brings to this matchup, with a plain note on where OVHcloud has the edge.

Per-second billing instead of hourly consumption pricing.

A paused sandbox's memory snapshot can seed many new sandboxes; OVHcloud publishes no fork or memory snapshot.

Outbound allowlists per sandbox, applied live and enforced outside the VM.

Where OVHcloud is strong

Low hourly prices with outbound traffic included in most regions, so egress-heavy workloads cost far less than on hyperscalers.

Which to Pick

Pick CreateOS Sandbox if

  • Agent tasks last seconds or minutes, not hours
  • You want to pause an agent's machine and fork it for retries
  • You want each sandbox's outbound traffic limited to listed hosts

Pick OVHcloud if

  • You need instances up to 128 vCores and 512 GB
  • You push lots of outbound traffic from Europe or North America
  • You want H100 or L40S GPU instances

Common Questions

Is outbound traffic free on OVHcloud Public Cloud?

In most regions, yes: outgoing public traffic is included, except in Singapore, Sydney and Mumbai, where each project gets 1 TB a month and pays for extra GB. CreateOS has no egress fees and a 50 GiB outbound budget per sandbox by default.

What free credit does OVHcloud give new projects?

OVHcloud gives US$200 of free credit for a first project. CreateOS Free gives 500 credits with no card required, limited to one concurrent 1 vCPU / 1 GB sandbox and 10 creates per rolling 24 hours.

Can OVHcloud instances be billed per second for short agent tasks?

No. OVHcloud prices Public Cloud instances hourly or monthly, with an hourly minimum, so a two-minute task still pays for an hour. CreateOS bills per second while a sandbox runs, with no minimum.
