What it does

The agent finds relevant authority, summarizes the holdings, and cites each source. Nothing is asserted without a link a lawyer can check.

Without it: Open-ended research is hard to scope and harder to trust when answers arrive without a clear chain back to authority.

Searches the firm's own prior memos alongside the case-law database
Reports subsequent treatment where the database records it, so bad authority is visible
Says when it found nothing on point rather than returning the nearest thing
Cites regulation at the version in force on the matter's dates, not today's text

Illustrative example

An associate asks whether a liquidated damages clause survives repudiation under the law governing the matter. The agent returns the authorities with the holding on each, marks one as distinguished in a 2024 decision, surfaces a 2023 firm memo arguing the same point, and reports nothing on point for the sub-question about interest. The associate reads the pin cites before any of it goes into advice.
